2015 - Refugee crisis
In 2015 I connected with local volunteers on Facebook. They were organising a fundraising event to support refugees in Calais and I offered my help. I secured high-value raffle prizes from local businesses and helped organise the event for the next 3 years.

2015 - A heritage project
Between November 2017 and January 2018, four of the young artists, now teenagers, joined an Ignite Yorkshire pilot project delivered by Sponge Tree in partnership with Canal Connections. The group used a canal boat as a base for adventures exploring the local landscape, culture, history and nature along a one-mile stretch of canal corridor between Shipley centre and Dowley Gap Lock, in the buffer zone of the World Heritage Site of Saltaire. I was the facilitator and rapporteur on the project.
This resulted in funding for a long-term project. What 2 Do Canal Crew became the Cactus Crew, a teen collective who explore places and activities for teenagers in Bradford. You can find out more on their Facebook page...
